WDSF Open Rising Stars Latin – Tournament victory goes to Lithuania again
As in the Rising Star Standard competition, Lithuania also won the Rising Stars Latin competition. However, the competition was much closer than in the Standard section. Although Augustinas Trinkus and Lauryta Abramovaite won the first three dances, thus also winning the competition, the Paso Doble and Jive divisions were won by Yaosheng Wang and Aoxue Kong from China, who impressed with their relaxed dance style. Third place went to Vlad-Alexandru Visan and Nicole Sokolow, despite several top scores in the individual competitions.
Places four to six changed hands constantly, so that in the end, these three places were separated by only one place number. With three fourth and two sixth place dances, fourth place overall went to Karolis Ceburnis and Smilte Kozlovskyte from Lithuania. Yi He and Shan Ouyang (the second couple from the People’s Republic of China) took fifth place with one fourth, three fifth, and one sixth place. Pietro Lamonaca and Rebecca Sorice from Italy followed closely behind with one fourth, two fifth, and two sixth places.
