WDSF Open Senior IV Standard – Victory for Dr. Michael and Regina Groß
Due to various delays, the final of the WDSF Open Senior IV Standard could not take place until shortly before 1 a.m. Despite the late – or rather early – hour, the finalists still delivered impressive performances. Victory in all dances went to Dr. Michael and Regina Groß. Desiderio Camerotto and Marisa Coral from Albania took second place, losing only the slow foxtrot to Alessandro Barbone and Patrizia Flamini from Italy.
The latter performed very differently in the dances (fourth place in the slow waltz, third place in the tango and quickstep, fifth place in the Viennese waltz, and second place in the slow foxtrot), so that in the end they were only three places ahead of Alfons and Beatrix Schwake from Germany (two third places, two fifth places, and one fourth place). The skating system had to decide the order of the final two couples, as both had a place number of 26. In the end, Dirk Keller and Heidemarie Schulz-Brüsewitz finished narrowly ahead of Alexander and Anne-Gabriele Beaumont (both from Germany).
