WDSF International Open Latin – Clear victory for the German champions Balandin / Salita

There was a scary moment quite early in the World Ranking Competition of the Latin Adults, as Jacqueline Joos injured her neck in the jive of the 48th round, so that she was not able to continue the competition with her partner Razvan Dumitrescu. We wish her a speedy recovery!
After two more rounds, the six finalists were determined, consisting of three Germans and one couple each from Denmark, Latvia and Lithuania. Artur Balandin and Anna Salita from Bochum won the competition with an almost flawless score (only one of 55 possible top scores was missing). Second place went almost as clearly to Vicenc Torremade and Megija Dana Morite from Latvia, and third place to Egor Kondratenko and Mie Lincke Funch from Denmark. After the dances, fourth place was also a clear-cut affair for Vitalii Zakharov and Tabea Louisa Thaler from Wiesbaden, although the individual scores were somewhat more mixed. Among the two remaining finalists, the Lithuanians Einoras Degutis and Ugne Bliujute were still ahead in the first two dances. From the Rumba onwards, however, Vinzenz Dörlitz and Albena Daskalova from Düsseldorf managed to turn the tide and finish in fifth place.
