WDSF Open Junior II Latin – Three close duels for the final places
A total of 58 couples took part in the World Ranking Tournament for Junior II Latin dances. The final was a neck-and-neck race between the German champions Largo Zofcin and Eliana Pfaffenroth from Frankfurt and the worldranking number two Kristiyan Donchev and Martina Kondaklieva from Bulgaria. After the first two dances went to Zofcin/Pfaffenroth, Donchev/Kondaklieva won the Rumba. However, the Paso Doble then brought the preliminary decision in favour of Zofcin/Pfaffenroth. This did not change although Donchev/Kondaklieva won the last final dance again.
Places three and four as well as five and six were also decided two to three after the dances. However, the battle for third place was decided quite quickly, as the second German final couple – Tim Gordon and Luisa Huber from Pforzheim – were ahead in the first three dances and only then gave up the remaining two dances to their pursuers Jelisei Zemljannikov and Gertrude Sofia Kirkmann from Finland, which no longer had any effect on the result. The two remaining finalists made it even more exciting by swapping places in every dance. This meant that the result in the jive brought the decision in favour of Girius Ramasauskas and Gaile Vaiciulaityte from Lithuania ahead of Deniz Mert Isik and Pelin Top from Turkey.
