Strong Performances and Close Decisions at the Junior II Standard competition
While the Seniors I final featured four German and two international couples, the situation in the Juniors II Standard category was exactly the opposite. Five nations were represented in the final, where two couples from Pforzheim competed against one couple each from Estonia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and Turkey. The performances in both the final and the semi-final were very evenly matched; nevertheless, Robert Peik and Rosanna Nurmsalu from Estonia consistently drew the spotlight. Ranked eighth in the world, the Estonian couple prevailed by winning three of the dances to take the competition title. In the subsequent rankings, the final order remained fluid, with the results for individual dances shifting back and forth unpredictably. Ultimately, the two German representatives finished in fourth and fifth place.
