The “Who’s Who” Makes an Appearance at the WDSF Open Senior I Latin

The Senior I Latin couples kicked off their competition in the early evening — the third block of the day — with a field of 48 couples. By around 10:00 PM, the finalists had been determined. The couples ranked first, second, and fourth at the German Championships — as well as those ranked second, third, and fourth at the most recent European Championships — all successfully advanced to the final round. Joining them were the couple ranked third in the world from Spain, along with one couple from Austria and one from Germany.

By winning all five dances, the reigning German Champions and European Vice-Champions, Markus Heffner and Marina Scharin-Mehlmann, claimed the title at “Hessen tanzt”. The Spanish couple, Gerard Perez and Eva Krejcirova, clearly secured second place, followed by the German Vice-Champions, Georg Rauchhaus and Sonja Stegemann, who likewise clearly earned third place.
